What kind of equipment do you use? |
I use two digital cameras for my photos. My principal camera is a Canon EOS 1D Mark III Digital SLR. For football and baseball, I use a Canon 100-400 mm f4.5-5.6L zoom lens. For basketball and volleyball, I use a Canon 50 mm f1.4 lens and a Canon 85mm f1.8 lens. My second camera is an Olympus E-100RS. The E-100 is a 1.5 megapixel camera that can take pictures at up to 15 frames per second. I use it primarily for taking pictures of very fast action, like a ball coming off the bat in baseball. The 15 fps speed makes it more likely that I will catch the “perfect” moment. |

What is a “Large Gallery”? |
A “Large Gallery” presents pictures one at a time, moving from one to the next by clicking an arrow. These galleries are intended for people with high-speed connections and monitors running at 1024x768 or higher resolution.. The pictures are up to 1000 x 650 pixels in size, and are in low compression, high quality JPEG format. |
What is a “Small Gallery”? |
A “Small Gallery” presents pictures one at a time in order, moving from one to the next by clicking an arrow. These galleries are intended for people with low-speed connections or monitors running at lower resolutions. The pictures are up to 600x400 pixels in size, and are in medium compression, medium quality JPEG format. |

What is the “Single Page” format? |
The “Single Page” format downloads all the pictures for a given gallery into one web page in your browser. The pictures are the same size and quality as those in the “Large Gallery”. The advantage of this format is that you can let the entire page download in the background while you do something else. Some people prefer that to the short delay that occurs each time a new picture is opened in a Large Gallery. If you do use the “Single Page” format, there is a trick that is useful for navigating from one picture to the next without using the scroll bar. By using the “Find” function (CTRL-F in MS Internet Explorer) to search for a single hyphen (“-”), you can move directly to the next picture in sequence. |
